Bob's History & Experience in Window Treatments

Bob was the first employee of the Louver Shop in another territory, starting his career as an installer. He worked his way up to become a plant manager and then lead up the window treatment installation training program. When the opportunity came up to open a new business in Nashville, he took it. And now, he and his wife are proud to own and operate a family business that serves a great town filled with wonderful people.

Bob and Shea have two grown sons in college. Meanwhile, back at home, they have three Labradors and a Labradoodle. They enjoy various activities, like off-road racing, softball, and plenty more. They are also members of the local HRC Middle Tennessee Amateur Retriever club.

Bob has over four decades in the industry, all with the Louver Shop and Hunter Douglas. And, due to his long career and approach to customer satisfaction, quite a bit of his business comes from referrals. In several instances, from children of previous clients.

The couple does all of their own installations, which helps them form tight relationships with their customers, who appreciate the fact that all the work is done through the same people and nothing is farmed out to third-party subcontractors. This also gives them complete control over the quality of installations, which ensures the jobs are done right each and every time.

Bob says that his personal favorite product is the shutters because they are very timeless, look great, and are exceptionally versatile, making them a good fit for a variety of applications and architectural styles. He also states that motorized and automated window treatment products have been gaining popularity around Nashville and foresees them being a bigger part of his business in the future. I want to start by saying this is the 3rd or 4th time I have used the Nashville Louver Shoppe and the the first time in recent years that I have been frustrated. This order took many weeks longer than expected or promised and then when the order arrived I was disappointed in the way the cut out around the door handle was treated, in that only the top part of the shutter was cut away and the part that goes against the door was not. In fact, the way it was treated caused the entire shutter to have to be offset by about a quarter inch because there was no cut out against the door where the door knob is located and it pushed the shutter to the left about 1/4 inch. I know with COVID everything is wonky and truly Bob and Shay of the Nashville franchise have been so easy to work with in the past that I feel this was mostly an aberration. But still - -communication should have been much better to let us know the status of our order and the unusual way they cut out around the door knob and moved over the entire shutter looks a little sloppy to me. Detail is everything when you are dealing with interior design features.
